Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Tool and Die Designer to join our engineering team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and creation of detailed tool and die layouts, including 2D and 3D models using CAD software
- Collaborate with senior designers to refine designs and ensure adherence to project specifications
- Support the prototyping process by preparing accurate drawings and documentation
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to discussions on design improvements
- Conduct research on materials and manufacturing processes to inform design choices
- Help troubleshoot and resolve design issues that arise during production
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
- Basic understanding of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Preferred:
- Internship or co-op experience in tool and die design or manufacturing
- Familiarity with machining processes and materials used in tool making
- Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in CAD software for designing tools and dies
- Understanding of machining processes and tooling technologies
- Experience with technical documentation and project management tools
