Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Foster Care Services to lead our dynamic foster care program. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative strategies to enhance the quality of care for children in our system, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of foster care programs and services, ensuring they meet the needs of children and families.
- Lead and mentor a team of social workers and support staff, promoting a culture of professional growth and effective service delivery.
- Collaborate with community partners, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to enhance service delivery and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and guidelines.
- Develop and manage budgets related to foster care services, ensuring financial accountability and sustainability.
- Utilize data-driven insights to assess program effectiveness and drive improvements in service quality and outcomes.
- Advocate for policies and practices that support the well-being of children in foster care and actively engage with the community to raise awareness and support for foster care initiatives.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in child welfare or foster care services, including supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of foster care regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working with trauma-informed care practices.
- Demonstrated success in program development and evaluation.
- Familiarity with grant writing and funding opportunities in the child welfare sector.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in data management systems and case management software.
- Ability to analyze program data and generate reports for stakeholders.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant productivity tools.
