Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Foster Care Worker to join our team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of children’s needs and foster family capabilities to ensure appropriate placements
- Develop and implement individualized service plans tailored to each child's unique circumstances, fostering their growth and stability
- Facilitate regular communication between children, foster families, and biological families to promote positive relationships and outcomes
- Provide training and support to foster families, equipping them with the tools to create nurturing environments
- Monitor the progress of children in care, conducting regular visits and assessments to evaluate their well-being
- Advocate for children’s needs during team meetings, court hearings, and case conferences, ensuring their voices are heard
- Document case notes, progress reports, and other necessary documentation in compliance with agency policies and state regulations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
- 1+ years of experience working with children and families in a social services setting
- Understanding of trauma-informed care principles and best practices in child welfare
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field
- Experience in foster care or child welfare systems
- Familiarity with community resources and support services available to foster families
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in case management software and documentation systems
- Experience using virtual communication tools for remote interactions with families and stakeholders
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
- Empathetic and patient demeanor, with a strong commitment to child advocacy
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
