Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Protection Manager to lead our initiatives in safeguarding children and ensuring their rights are upheld in all environments. This role is crucial in developing and implementing strategies that promote child safety and well-being, while collaborating with various stakeholders to drive impactful change.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive child protection policies and procedures aligned with international standards and local laws
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential threats to child safety
- Lead training programs for staff and partners to foster a culture of safeguarding within the organization
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations to strengthen child protection frameworks
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of child protection initiatives, providing regular reports and updates to senior management
- Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in child protection to continually enhance our programs
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, international development, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in child protection, safeguarding, or related fields, preferably in a managerial role
- Strong understanding of child protection laws, policies, and best practices
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective training and capacity-building programs
Preferred:
- Experience working in conflict-affected areas or with marginalized populations
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools
- Fluency in multiple languages is a plus
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools to track program impact
- Experience with database management systems for case management
- Strong knowledge of child protection software and reporting mechanisms
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Strong leadership qualities, capable of inspiring and guiding teams towards a common goal
