Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Foster Care Services to lead our initiatives in transforming the foster care landscape. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for strategic oversight and development of comprehensive foster care programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to children and families in need, while championing policy advocacy and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance foster care services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders to enhance service offerings and advocacy efforts.
- Monitor program outcomes and effectiveness through data-driven approaches, ensuring accountability and transparency in all operations.
- Advocate for policy changes at local and state levels to improve the foster care system and outcomes for children and families.
- Provide training and development opportunities for staff to ensure best practices in foster care services are implemented and maintained.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Policy, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in child welfare or foster care services, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of foster care regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
Preferred:
- Experience in policy advocacy and community engagement related to foster care.
- Demonstrated track record of successful program development and implementation.
- Familiarity with data analysis and performance measurement frameworks in social services.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in data management and reporting tools to track service outcomes and program impact.
- Experience with case management software and databases commonly used in child welfare.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance systems and quality assurance methodologies.
