Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Fleet Operations Manager to lead our fleet management initiatives. In this role, you will architect and implement innovative operational strategies that enhance fleet efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and elevate the service quality of our fleet operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive fleet management strategies that align with organizational goals and enhance operational performance.
- Oversee day-to-day fleet operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, maintenance schedules, and performance standards.
- Utilize data analytics to monitor fleet performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement actionable solutions.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring service delivery aligns with company standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Collaborate with finance to manage fleet budgets, forecasting expenses and analyzing cost drivers for optimal financial performance.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of fleet operations to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in fleet management or operations, with a proven track record of enhancing operational efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of fleet safety standards, regulatory compliance, and maintenance best practices.
- Experience in data analysis and performance metrics, utilizing data to drive decision-making and process optimization.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and foster collaboration.
Preferred:
- Experience with fleet management software and telematics systems for real-time data tracking and analysis.
- Certifications in fleet management or related fields (e.g., NAFA).
- Knowledge of sustainable fleet practices and alternative fuel technologies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in fleet management software and data analytics tools.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
- Ability to implement and manage telematics and GPS tracking systems.
