Role Overview
The Assistant Fleet Manager will play a critical role in supporting the operations of our fleet management team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the fleet, including vehicle maintenance, scheduling, and route planning
- Monitor fleet performance metrics and generate reports to identify improvement opportunities
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding fleet operations
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule repairs and preventative maintenance
- Support the procurement process for new vehicles, including evaluating specifications and negotiating contracts
- Develop and implement best practices for fuel management and cost reduction
- Assist in training and mentoring drivers on safety protocols and operational procedures
- Participate in fleet audits and assist in maintaining accurate records for compliance and reporting
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in fleet management or logistics
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field
- Experience with fleet management software systems
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance standards
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in fleet management software and GPS tracking systems
- Ability to analyze data related to vehicle performance and maintenance
- Skilled in using data visualization tools to present insights effectively
