Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our innovative team. This role is crucial in designing and implementing fire protection systems that ensure the safety and compliance of our diverse projects. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to develop effective fire safety strategies and solutions tailored to meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze fire protection systems, including suppression, detection, and alarm systems for various types of buildings and facilities.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate fire hazards and ensure compliance with local and national fire codes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire protection solutions into overall project designs.
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals related to fire protection systems.
- Provide technical guidance and training to project teams and clients on fire safety best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest fire protection technologies, trends, and regulatory changes.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in fire protection engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, local fire codes, and fire safety regulations.
- Experience with fire modeling software and design tools.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
Preferred:
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
- Certification as a Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or similar credentials.
- Proven track record in project management and client interaction.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in fire protection design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with fire suppression systems, including water-based and non-water-based systems.
- Strong analytical skills for fire risk assessment and system evaluation.
