Role Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Systems Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to design, implement, and maintain fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Responsibilities
- Design and implement fire alarm systems in accordance with national and local codes, including NFPA standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to support the effective integration of fire alarm solutions into various building systems.
- Provide technical guidance and training to internal teams and clients regarding fire alarm operations and best practices.
- Assist in investigating fire alarm system failures and perform troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system designs, installations, and maintenance activities.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in fire alarm system design, installation, or maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 72, IFC).
- Proficiency in fire alarm system software and hardware, including addressable and conventional systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
- Certifications such as NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level I or II.
- Experience with advanced fire alarm technologies, including voice evacuation systems and integration with building management systems.
- Familiarity with fire safety engineering principles and risk assessment methodologies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in fire alarm control panels, detectors, and notification appliances.
- Proficient in CAD software for system design and layout.
- Experience with networked fire alarm systems and remote monitoring technologies.
