Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Emergency Department Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will play a critical part in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department environment while leading and mentoring a team of technicians to ensure optimal operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the emergency department technician team, ensuring adherence to protocols and high standards of care.
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient assessments and interventions.
- Lead training initiatives for new technicians and provide ongoing mentorship to enhance their clinical skills and professional development.
- Manage inventory and equipment maintenance to ensure availability and readiness for emergencies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures to improve workflow and patient care.
- Assist in triaging patients and performing basic life support as needed during emergencies.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience working in an emergency department or similar high-acuity medical setting.
- Proven leadership skills with experience supervising or mentoring clinical staff.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to respond effectively in high-pressure situations.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent experience.
- Advanced certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and data management.
