Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiac Sonographer to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this role, you will utilize advanced ultrasound technology to perform echocardiograms and assist in diagnosing cardiac conditions, ensuring a high standard of patient care and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive echocardiograms, including 2D, 3D, Doppler, and stress echocardiography, to assess cardiac function and structure.
- Analyze and interpret ultrasound images in collaboration with cardiologists to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and institutional protocols.
- Educate patients about the echocardiogram procedure, addressing any concerns to ensure a positive experience.
- Stay current with advancements in echocardiography technology and best practices to enhance service delivery.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to uphold the highest standards of care.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
- Current Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac ultrasound.
- Proficient in operating echocardiography equipment and software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in image acquisition and interpretation.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience with advanced echocardiography techniques, such as transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).
- Familiarity with cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator evaluation.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in echocardiography equipment, including Philips, GE, or Siemens systems.
- Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Understanding of hemodynamics and cardiovascular physiology.
