Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Echocardiographer to lead our echocardiography department, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and diagnostic imaging. In this role, you will oversee echocardiographic services, manage a team of sonographers, and drive clinical excellence while implementing innovative practices to enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the echocardiography team, providing mentorship and training to ensure high-quality imaging and reporting.
- Develop and implement departmental policies and protocols to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Conduct advanced echocardiographic studies, including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, and provide expert analysis and interpretation of results.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare professionals to integrate echocardiographic findings into comprehensive patient care plans.
- Manage departmental resources, schedules, and equipment maintenance to optimize workflow and efficiency.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the echocardiography department.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in echocardiography with a proven track record of leadership in a clinical setting.
- Extensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and echocardiographic techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make complex decisions based on diagnostic imaging.
Preferred:
- Advanced certifications in echocardiography (e.g., Adult Echocardiography, Pediatric Echocardiography).
- Experience with advanced imaging modalities such as 3D echocardiography and strain imaging.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and data management.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of echocardiographic equipment and software.
- Experience with cardiac imaging techniques including Doppler, 2D, and 3D echocardiography.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and guidelines for echocardiography.
