Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and passionate Assistant Dietary Manager to join our team. In this role, you will assist in overseeing the dietary department, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and delivering exceptional meal services to our residents. Responsibilities
- Assist the Dietary Manager in planning and implementing menus that meet the dietary needs of residents while adhering to budgetary constraints
- Supervise, train, and mentor dietary staff to ensure high standards of food safety and sanitation
- Conduct regular audits of meal services and dietary procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess the nutritional needs of residents and provide tailored meal options
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering food and supplies as needed
- Engage with residents and families to promote satisfaction with meal services and address any concerns
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in a dietary management role within a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of dietary regulations and standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and dietary management software
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency with dietary management software and electronic health records
- Understanding of nutritional guidelines and dietary restrictions
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and sanitation practices
