Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Diesel Service Manager to lead our service operations and ensure the highest standards of diesel engine maintenance and repair. This role is crucial in managing a team of technicians, overseeing service processes, and maintaining exceptional customer relationships to drive operational efficiency and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the diesel service department, ensuring timely and quality repairs and maintenance of diesel engines and equipment.
- Lead and mentor a team of skilled technicians, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement service strategies that align with company goals, focusing on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Manage service schedules, parts inventory, and workflow processes to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a high level of service delivery.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports on service performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards in all service operations.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in diesel service management or a related field, with a proven track record of leading successful service operations.
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engine systems, repair techniques, and maintenance practices.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team of technicians.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Proficient in using service management software and tools.
Preferred:
- ASE certification in diesel engines or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience with fleet management and understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with advanced diagnostic tools and technologies.
