Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Marine Diesel Service Manager to lead our service operations and drive excellence in maintenance and repair of marine diesel engines. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a team of skilled technicians, ensuring high-quality service delivery while fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the marine diesel service department, ensuring timely and effective service delivery to clients.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of service technicians, providing training and guidance to enhance their technical skills and career growth.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, addressing their needs and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
- Implement and monitor service quality standards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Oversee the scheduling and execution of repairs and maintenance, optimizing resource allocation and minimizing downtime.
- Analyze service metrics and performance data to identify trends, implement improvements, and drive operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify opportunities for service contracts and upsell additional services to existing clients.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in marine diesel service management or a related field.
- Strong technical background in marine diesel engines, including troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of technicians.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
Preferred:
- Experience with fleet management and maintenance tracking systems.
- Certification in marine engineering or related fields.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards in the marine industry.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep knowledge of marine diesel propulsion systems, including engine performance diagnostics and repair.
