Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Cotton Program Technician to join our agricultural research team. In this in-person role, you will be instrumental in supporting cotton production research efforts, conducting field experiments, and ensuring the integrity of data collection processes. Your work will directly contribute to advancing sustainable agricultural practices and enhancing crop yields.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of field trials for various cotton varieties, ensuring adherence to research protocols and timelines.
- Conduct routine field assessments, including sampling, data collection, and analysis to evaluate plant health and growth metrics.
- Collaborate with agronomists and researchers to implement best practices for pest management, irrigation, and fertilization.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of field activities, observations, and experimental results to facilitate data analysis.
- Participate in preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders and contribute to research publications.
- Support the maintenance and calibration of research equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in agriculture, biology, environmental science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of agricultural practices, particularly in cotton production.
- Experience with data collection and analysis techniques in a field research environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in using field equipment and tools, including GPS and data logging devices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in agronomy or a related field.
- Previous experience working in agricultural research or field trials.
- Familiarity with statistical software for data analysis.
