Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Industrial Hygiene to lead our organization in creating and implementing comprehensive industrial hygiene programs. This role is crucial in ensuring the health and safety of our workforce by identifying, evaluating, and controlling environmental hazards in the workplace. You will be at the forefront of driving safety standards and fostering a culture of health and well-being across all operational levels.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage industrial hygiene programs that comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of workplace environments to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate control measures.
- Lead investigations into exposure incidents and compile reports detailing findings, corrective actions, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including safety, human resources, and operations, to integrate industrial hygiene practices into overall safety management systems.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on industrial hygiene awareness and best practices.
- Stay current with advancements in industrial hygiene practices and technologies, and implement innovative solutions to improve workplace safety.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in industrial hygiene or occupational health, with a proven track record in program management.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry standards related to industrial hygiene.
- Certification as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent is strongly preferred.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in a leadership role within a large organization.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpreting industrial hygiene data to drive decision-making.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in industrial hygiene sampling methodologies and analytical techniques.
- Familiarity with risk assessment tools and software for hazard identification and management.
- Ability to leverage technology to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting.
