Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Environmental Health Sanitarian to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring public health and safety by conducting inspections, evaluating compliance with environmental health regulations, and supporting community health initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of food service establishments, public pools, and hazardous waste facilities to ensure compliance with local and state regulations.
- Assist in the investigation of environmental health complaints and outbreaks, gathering data and evidence to support findings.
- Collaborate with senior sanitarians to develop educational materials and outreach programs aimed at promoting public health awareness.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and follow-up actions, ensuring all documentation is up to date and compliant.
- Support the development and implementation of health and safety programs within the community.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge of environmental health practices and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of environmental health principles and local health regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or volunteer experience in environmental health or public health settings.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
