Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Environmental Health to lead our organization in developing and implementing strategic initiatives that promote environmental health and sustainability. This role will focus on advancing our mission to protect public health and the environment through evidence-based programs and policies. You will be responsible for overseeing a multidisciplinary team, driving innovation, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction and implementation of environmental health programs that align with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute policies that address environmental health challenges.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of environmental health data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Engage with stakeholders, including governmental agencies, community organizations, and industry partners, to advocate for public health initiatives.
- Oversee regulatory compliance and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal environmental health standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team, encouraging professional development and knowledge sharing.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in environmental health, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful environmental health programs.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and public health policies.
- Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to inform decision-making.
Preferred:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Experience working with governmental and non-governmental organizations on public health initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in data analysis tools and software relevant to environmental health.
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and environmental modeling tools.
- Familiarity with project management software and methodologies.
