Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and compassionate Director of Counseling Services to lead our initiatives focused on addressing abuse and drug addiction. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive counseling programs, ensuring that our services meet the diverse needs of our clients while adhering to best practices and regulatory standards. Your leadership will play a critical role in shaping our counseling services and driving impactful outcomes for individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate counseling programs that address the needs of individuals struggling with abuse and addiction issues.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of counselors, therapists, and support staff while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
- Develop policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in mental health and substance abuse treatment.
- Implement evidence-based practices and innovative therapeutic approaches to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.
- Monitor program effectiveness through data analysis, client feedback, and outcome measurements, making adjustments as necessary to improve services.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to enhance access to care and resources for clients.
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to staff, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.
- Advocate for individuals and families affected by substance use disorders within the community and at the policy level.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Licensure as a professional counselor (LPC), clinical social worker (LCSW), or psychologist (PhD/PsyD) in the relevant jurisdiction.
- 8+ years of experience in counseling or clinical services, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated expertise in substance use disorders, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based therapeutic practices.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and standards related to mental health and substance abuse services.
Preferred:
- Experience developing and managing community-based mental health or substance abuse programs.
- Familiarity with integrated care models and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Certification in addiction counseling (e.g., CADC, NCC, or equivalent).
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in data management and outcome measurement systems to track program effectiveness.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth technologies.
- Knowledge of assessment tools and outcome measurement frameworks relevant to counseling services.
