Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Substance Abuse Counseling to lead our innovative programs aimed at providing comprehensive support and treatment for individuals facing substance abuse challenges. This role is crucial in developing strategic initiatives, overseeing clinical practices, and fostering an environment that promotes recovery and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based substance abuse counseling programs that align with organizational goals and best practices.
- Oversee the management of counseling staff, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to ethical and clinical standards.
- Lead the evaluation and continuous improvement of counseling services, utilizing data to inform decision-making and program enhancements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create integrated treatment plans that address the diverse needs of clients.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
- Provide training and supervision to counseling staff, fostering professional development and promoting a culture of excellence.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Licensure as a professional counselor (LPC, LCSW, or equivalent) is required.
- 5+ years of experience in substance abuse counseling, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively and drive programmatic success.
Preferred:
- Experience in developing and managing substance abuse treatment programs within a clinical setting.
- Familiarity with grant writing and fundraising efforts to support program initiatives.
- Certification in addiction counseling (e.g., CADC, ICADC) is a plus.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and data management tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and metrics to drive program improvements.
- Experience with telehealth platforms and remote counseling technologies.
