Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Catheterization Technologist to join our innovative healthcare team. In this fully remote role, you will play a crucial part in supporting advanced cardiac procedures and ensuring optimal patient care through the operation of complex imaging equipment and the implementation of protocols that enhance diagnostic accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile field for cardiac catheterization procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and best practices.
- Assist physicians during procedures by providing critical technical support and ensuring the seamless operation of imaging and monitoring devices.
- Conduct thorough pre-procedure assessments, including reviewing patient history and confirming the accuracy of orders and consent forms.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective patient care plans.
- Utilize advanced imaging technology to capture high-quality images and assist in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures, patient information, and equipment usage, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on the latest advancements in catheterization and imaging technologies.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Cardiovascular Technology or related field.
- Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab setting.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and related diagnostic procedures.
- Proficient in operating imaging equipment and managing emergency situations.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience with electrophysiology procedures and advanced imaging techniques.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and data management.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of fluoroscopy, angiography, and other cardiac imaging modalities.
- Experience with catheterization equipment, including pressure monitoring systems and contrast injectors.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex imaging results and facilitating clinical decision-making.
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical information to patients and medical staff.
