We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the catheterization laboratory for procedures, ensuring all equipment is functioning and sterile
- Assist physicians during cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, and other interventional procedures, providing necessary support and ensuring patient safety
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and comfort levels during procedures, intervening as necessary to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document and maintain accurate patient records, including procedure details and patient responses, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate in patient education and provide instructions regarding post-procedure care and recovery
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance lab efficiency and patient care
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in a related field
- Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab setting
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and interventional techniques
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience with advanced imaging technologies, including fluoroscopy and echocardiography
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting cardiovascular imaging equipment
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data management tools
- Understanding of radiation safety principles and infection control protocols
