Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Lead Blockmason to oversee our masonry projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship while managing a team of masonry professionals. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and completion of block masonry tasks across various construction sites, adhering to safety standards and project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of masons, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
- Plan and coordinate masonry projects, including estimating materials and labor requirements.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to execute masonry work accurately.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices on job sites.
- Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to maintain quality control.
- Train and mentor junior masons in masonry techniques and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other trades to ensure timely project completion.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in masonry, with a focus on block masonry techniques.
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Preferred:
- Experience with various masonry materials and techniques, including reinforced block and decorative stone.
- Certification in masonry or related fields.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in masonry tools and equipment, including trowels, chisels, and leveling instruments.
- Experience with mortar mixing and application techniques.
