Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Bankruptcy Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will support our attorneys in providing exceptional legal services related to bankruptcy cases. Your contributions will play a critical role in case preparation and management, while gaining valuable experience in the legal field.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related documents
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case strategies
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Communicate with clients, creditors, and court personnel regarding case status and requirements
- Draft correspondence and legal documents as directed by supervising attorneys
- Support the team in trial preparation, including compiling exhibits and witness lists
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a legal or paralegal program
- 1+ years of experience in a legal setting, preferably in bankruptcy law
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures related to bankruptcy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field
- Experience with bankruptcy software and case management systems
- Familiarity with federal and state bankruptcy laws and procedures
- Prior experience in a remote work environment
