Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Junior Litigation Paralegal to support our legal team in managing a diverse caseload. This entry-level position will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills in legal research, document management, and client interaction while working in a collaborative environment focused on excellence in legal services.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, depositions, and hearings by organizing case files and managing documentation.
- Conduct legal research using online databases and other resources to support case strategies.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence.
- Maintain and update case management systems to ensure accurate tracking of deadlines, filings, and case progress.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and court personnel to gather information and provide updates on case status.
- Participate in case strategy meetings, taking notes and helping to develop action plans.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
Preferred:
- Experience in a law firm or legal environment, preferably in litigation.
- Familiarity with court procedures and filing systems.
- Knowledge of case management software.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using legal research databases such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Experience with case management software.
- Familiarity with e-filing systems in various jurisdictions.
