Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Bankruptcy Manager to join our legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing bankruptcy cases, providing expert legal advice, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of bankruptcy law to navigate complex financial situations while working closely with clients and stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 filings.
- Provide strategic legal advice to clients on bankruptcy-related matters, including debt restructuring and negotiations with creditors.
- Analyze financial statements and credit reports to assess clients' financial health and potential bankruptcy options.
- Draft and file all necessary legal documents, ensuring compliance with court requirements and deadlines.
- Represent clients in bankruptcy court hearings and negotiations with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including financial analysts and compliance officers, to develop comprehensive strategies for clients.
- Stay current with changes in bankruptcy laws and regulations to provide informed guidance.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- 5+ years of experience in bankruptcy law or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state bankruptcy laws and regulations.
- Proven track record of managing complex bankruptcy cases successfully.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in a large law firm or financial institution.
- Familiarity with case management software and legal research tools.
- Membership in a state bar association.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Experience with case management software to track case progress and documentation.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis tools and methods.
