Role Overview
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal Manager to lead our team of paralegals. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the paralegal department, ensuring the efficiency and quality of legal support provided to the organization. You will oversee the development of paralegal staff and work closely with attorneys to facilitate effective legal processes and operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the paralegal team, including workload distribution, performance evaluations, and training initiatives
- Collaborate with attorneys to determine legal needs and develop strategies to meet those needs
- Ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards in all paralegal work
- Facilitate the development of paralegal procedures and best practices to enhance efficiency and quality of work
- Act as a primary point of contact for paralegals and attorneys regarding legal matters, providing timely updates and insights
- Conduct regular team meetings to foster communication, address challenges, and celebrate successes
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
- In-depth knowledge of legal terminology, legal research methods, and legal writing
- Strong understanding of litigation processes and case management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Preferred:
- Paralegal certification from an accredited institution
- Experience with legal project management tools and software
- Proficiency in legal research databases such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, for document management and reporting
- Experience with e-discovery tools and case management software
- Familiarity with document automation technologies
