Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Pathologist Specialist to join our team in delivering advanced diagnostic services. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in pathology to provide critical insights that drive animal health decisions and enhance our diagnostic capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed histopathological examinations to diagnose diseases in animal tissues and organs.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and animal health professionals to provide comprehensive diagnostic reports that guide treatment plans.
- Participate in the development and validation of diagnostic protocols and methodologies to improve service delivery.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing consultation on complex cases and contributing to case discussions.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of advances in veterinary pathology and related fields.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with a specialization in pathology.
- Board certification or eligibility for certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in veterinary pathology, including significant exposure to diagnostic work.
Preferred:
- Experience with digital pathology and telepathology platforms.
- Publication record in veterinary medicine or pathology-related journals.
- Familiarity with molecular diagnostics and emerging technologies in veterinary pathology.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in histopathological techniques, including tissue processing, sectioning, and staining.
- Experience with diagnostic imaging and laboratory information management systems.
- Knowledge of veterinary clinical pathology and immunohistochemistry.
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly.
