Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Stallion Manager to join our esteemed equine management team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. In this role, you will support the Stallion Manager in overseeing the care, training, and breeding operations of our stallion program, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and performance are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily management of stallions, including feeding, grooming, and health monitoring
- Support the Stallion Manager in developing and implementing breeding plans and schedules
- Conduct regular assessments of stallion health and fitness, maintaining detailed records and reports
- Coordinate with veterinary staff for health checks, vaccinations, and treatment plans
- Assist in the training of stallions for breeding and performance, applying best practices in equine training methodologies
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to provide updates and insights on stallion performance and breeding outcomes
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of stabling and training facilities
- Participate in the development of educational programs for staff and new interns regarding stallion management
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Equine Science, Animal Science, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in horse management or a related field
- Strong knowledge of equine health, breeding practices, and training techniques
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
Preferred:
- Experience specifically with stallions and breeding operations
- Knowledge of equine nutrition and dietary requirements
- Certifications in equine first aid or similar fields
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in record-keeping software and equine management systems
- Familiarity with veterinary software and tools
- Basic knowledge of biomechanics and performance analysis
