We are looking for a high-performing Business Development Representative with a strong SaaS foundation and experience selling into enterprises that rely on shipping products to their end customers.

In this role, you’ll operate as a strategic partner to Account Executives, own high-impact outbound motions, and play an active role in shaping how we engage the market. If you enjoy selling complex SaaS solutions, engaging senior decision-makers, and creating a pipeline that actually converts to revenue, you’ll thrive here.

Your Mission

Your mission is to consistently generate qualified, conversion-ready pipeline by engaging the right accounts, asking insightful business questions, and clearly articulating how our Shipping Intelligence Platform solves complex parcel shipping and logistics challenges. You’ll turn targeted outbound conversations into high-quality meetings that drive real revenue growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Become a Subject-Matter Expert: Master the nuances of our platform, parcel shipping logistics, and supply chain economics.
  • Outbound Prospecting: Execute high-quality multi-channel outreach across email, phone, and LinkedIn.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively engage C-level, VP, and Director-level stakeholders across targeted verticals.
  • Pipeline Generation: Consistently generate qualified meetings that convert into closed-won revenue.
  • Strategic Partnership: Partner closely with Account Executives to align on account strategy, messaging, and deal execution.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Marketing to refine targeting, messaging, and outbound plays.
  • Research & Personalization: Conduct deep account research to personalize outreach and improve conversion rates.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: 2+ years of professional sales experience, specifically within a SaaS environment.
  • CRM Proficiency: Hands-on experience using HubSpot to manage leads, sequences, and reporting.
  • Communication: Exceptional English communication skills (written and verbal). You will be speaking directly with North American customers daily.
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience or a strong understanding of logistics, supply chain, or shipping technology is highly preferred.
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to navigate complex organizations and reach senior decision-makers.
  • Drive: A self-starter attitude with a track record of meeting or exceeding outbound meeting targets.

Our Story

Why was Zipdev Founded?

Zipdev’s co-founders, Mike Lenny and Daniel Altenburg, first met while living in Lima, Peru, where they earned each other’s trust playing rugby and traveling around Latin America together. Zipdev was born after they had both moved back to San Diego, when Mike asked Daniel for help finding solid software engineers to help develop an app he wanted to build.

At first they struggled to find the right option. Trying to build out a full team software development team in California was costly, and a couple false starts with teams in disparate time zones was discouraging. But soon they realized that they had a resource that they knew well right in their own backyard: Latin America.

So after much searching and relationship building, Mike and Daniel found some very talented software engineers to work with. They then spread the word about their experience with members of the San Diego startup community, some of whom convinced them to start Zipdev and became its first customers in 2015.

Zipdev has since grown into a multidisciplinary team of recruiters, software engineers, designers, QA testers, project managers, product owners, and more spanning multiple cities in the United States and Latin America and all dedicated to providing its clients with dependable technology professionals whether remote or onsite.
