What’s the role?

A Senior Service Technicianlevel III has the ability to independently function as a Level-3 Field Service Technician. Meets performance standards defined herein, and can perform service functions on multiple Coordinate Measuring machine types and associated machine accessories.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all Level II duties and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills on CMM’s utilizing mechanical and electronic aptitude on which training has been received.
  • Computer repair and network skills (operating system install/upgrades/drivers/hubs/etc.).
  • Interact (communicate) with other internal departments to increase customer service and/or improve a Zeiss or procedure (Dispatch/Technical Support/Customer Care/Applications/ Engineering/Sales/Production/Management).
  • Accept responsibility for customer environment and/or other performance influences (operator error, tooling fixturing) and recommend/document applicable solution.
  • Ability to perform basic to mid-level retrofits.
  • Other duties as required.

Do you qualify?

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • AS/BS in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics or training and experience from Military Technical School is preferred.
  • Previous experience installing, troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines or computer systems preferred.
  • Microsoft operating system usage knowledge is required.
  • Previous CMM installation and troubleshooting experience is preferred; however, not required.
  • Excellent communication and customer service aptitude is required.
  • Have consistently and efficiently performed as a Field Service Technician for a minimum of 18 months (maintain all functions and responsibilities of previous levels).

Working Conditions and Special Demands:

  • 80-100% travel required (100% travel = Monday through Friday).
  • Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Able and willing to work minimum of 45 hours per work week.
  • Occasional International travel is required.
  • Ability to work in a high production shop floor environment.
