Woodard & Curran is offering a unique opportunity to join our Remediation teamand provide high-quality environmental services to our clients nationwide. An Environmental Scientist performs tasks of significant difficulty and complexity, working independently on the most challenging projects. Fieldwork, data management, report writing, and mentoring less experienced staff will play an important role in the candidate’s success.

We are looking for a motivated, bright, and talented Environmental Scientist to join our company in New Jersey. You will be involved with project work from your first day, working side-by-side with experienced engineers, technical specialists, and scientists from across our practice to help clients address their water and environmental challenges. Location: Remote – New Jersey
Travel: Up to 20% across the U.S.

To name a few, projects may include:

  • Driving investigation and remedial actions at complexremediationsites in New Jersey.
  • Support of natural resource and restoration projects across the country

What you will be doing at Woodard & Curran:

  • Oversee field assignments to collectsoil, groundwater, and other environmental media samples.
  • Prepare various regulatory submittals, technical memoranda, and/or reports.
  • Manage, analyze, evaluate, and interpret data for use in reports and other visualizations, including maps, charts, and 3D models.
  • Act as billing manager for small and medium sized projects and/or multiple phases/tasks of larger projects under the direct supervision of a Project Manager.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with key clients.
  • Mentor junior level staff.
  • Candidate should be a self-starter and possess strong technical fieldwork and writing skills to support various science and engineering projects.
  • Detail-oriented, have excellent verbal communication skills combined with a positive attitude, and can work independently and within teams.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, or related field from an accredited program. M.S. preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience collecting environmental samples.
  • Familiarity with and a working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, ArcGIS, CAD, or database software, preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing project work plans, schedules, and budgets is a plus.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus, but we will train.
