Video Platform Engineer

SUMMARY:

As a Video Platform engineer, you will play a key role in implementing, deploying & maintaining the Infrastructure as a Code for the Streaming Video Backend and Streaming components.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

You will join our engineering team and be a valued member working closely in a collaborative, autonomous, cross-functional team. You will help with the following:

• Implement, Deploy & Maintain the Infrastructure as a Code for ITVX Streaming Video Backend and Streaming components.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and address performance issues and ensure uninterrupted video delivery.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve video-related issues and incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal service disruption.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Solid programming skills in modern programming languages with experience in scripting and automation.
• Experience with Cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong experience writing IaC with Terraform.
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining video streaming platforms, preferably in a cloud-based environment.
• Knowledge of streaming protocols (e.g., HLS, MPEG-DASH).
• Strong understanding of content delivery networks (CDNs), caching mechanisms, and edge caching strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Key technologies: Akamai, Fastly, AWS Media Services, Terraform, GitHub, Scripting & Automation(Go, Python,..)

AWESOME BUT NOT REQUIRED:

• Edge compute.
• Knowledge of digital rights management (DRM) systems and content protection mechanisms.
• Experience with adaptive bitrate (ABR) streaming and dynamic packaging technologies.
