Who are we?

UpGuard’s mission is to make life easier for security teams. We meticulously create robust solutions that enable our customers to identify, assess, and remediate cybersecurity risk across their attack surface, vendor ecosystem, workforce, and trust relationships. Our integrated cyber risk posture management platform combines comprehensive security ratings, instant risk assessments, templated security questionnaires, threat intelligence capabilities, and agentic AI to give organizations a holistic view of their risk surface.
The Marketing team at UpGuard includes multiple marketing and design functions, including Product Marketing, Demand Gen, Marketing Ops, Content Marketing, SEO, Community, Design, and Video. UpGuard’s vision is to become a leader in the markets we play in (Cyber VRM, Attack Surface Management) by providing a best-in-class SaaS platform for organizations to manage their third-party risk and external attack surface. Our purpose as a Marketing team is to facilitate this goal by growing UpGuard with a repeatable and scalable marketing engine and a leading brand.

Where does this role fit in?

The Senior Web Designer is a pivotal role within the Website team. This position sits at the intersection of brand expression and technical performance, working closely with the Website Developers, Creative Team and the Product-Aligned Squads. While many B2B companies treat their website as a static brochure, UpGuard views the web experience as a dynamic, interactive product in itself. We are looking to move beyond simple "sign up" forms to create immersive digital experiences, interactive tools, and data-rich interfaces that rival consumer applications. You will be the visual architect of this transformation, ensuring that every pixel on upguard.com serves both an aesthetic and commercial purpose.

What you will do?

  • Role focus: This role focuses on the craft of web experience design rather than campaign art direction. We are looking for a designer whose primary strength is structuring, composing, and refining complete web interfaces — pages, components, interaction states, and responsive behaviour — rather than producing standalone marketing visuals or illustration-led creative. The ideal candidate obsesses over layout rhythm, hierarchy, information density, and usability at scale. They think in systems, breakpoints, and DOM realities, and are comfortable designing content-rich, data-heavy pages that must remain performant, accessible, and conversion-focused.
  • Elevate the Web Experience: Lead the visual design for high-impact web projects, moving beyond standard templates to create bespoke, interactive landing pages and microsites that captivate our technical audience.
  • Systematise the Design Language: Own and evolve the web design system in Figma, ensuring a consistent, scalable, and accessible visual language across thousands of pages while maintaining rapid velocity for the Web Dev team.
  • Bridge Design and Development: Work side-by-side with Front-End Engineers to ensure your designs are feasible, responsive, and performant, bridging the gap between "concept" and "code" with precise handoffs.
  • Visualise Complex Data: collaborate with the Research and Product Marketing teams to turn dense cybersecurity data and reports into engaging, interactive data visualisations and scrolly-telling experiences.
  • Optimise for Conversion: Partner with the Growth Squad (SEO & Paid) to design A/B tests and conversion rate optimisation (CRO) experiments that balance brand integrity with aggressive lead capture goals.
  • Collaborate with Squads: Act as the "Web Design Consultant" for Product Squads, translating their campaign themes and "Splash" concepts into digital realities that feel unique yet unmistakably UpGuard.

What you will bring?

  • 5+ years of dedicated web design experience, with a portfolio showcasing not just "brochureware" but complex, interactive, or product-led web experiences.
  • Mastery of Figma, including advanced prototyping, auto-layout, and the management of large-scale component libraries and design systems.
  • A strong understanding of Front-End fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript capabilities). You don't need to write code, but you must understand how the DOM works to design effectively for it.
  • Experience designing for B2B SaaS or Tech, with an ability to make complex, technical subjects (like cyber risk) feel accessible, modern, and premium.
  • A "User-Centric" mindset: you design for the human on the other side of the screen, obsessing over usability, accessibility (WCAG), and mobile responsiveness.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of explaining the "why" behind your design decisions to stakeholders ranging from Developers to the VP of Demand Gen.

What will give you an edge?

  • Experience with Webflow or headless CMS environments, understanding the constraints and opportunities of modern web stacks.
  • Motion design skills (After Effects, Lottie) to add micro-interactions and polish to your web interfaces.
  • A background in Information Architecture (IA) or UX Research, giving you the ability to rethink site navigation and user flows strategically.
  • Experience working in a Squad-based or Agile environment, collaborating with PMs and Developers in sprints.

What’s in it for you?

  • Monthly Lifestyle subsidy: Use this for financial, physical, and mental well-being
  • WFH set-up allowance: To ensure you have the right environment to work in, we will help you get set up within your first 3 months at UpGuard
  • $1500 USD annual Learning & Development allowance: To support your career development, all team members will be able to expense development opportunities against this allowance
  • Annual leave: PTO plus two additional UpGuardian leave days to give you time to recharge your batteries.

  • Personal Leave Allowance: This includes sick & carer’s leave
  • Fully remote working environment: While we have physical offices in Sydney & Hobart, we do not mandate compulsory attendance
  • Top-spec hardware: All team members will be provided with top-spec laptops for their role
  • Generative AI subsidy: UpGuard provides paid subscriptions for all team members to access generative AI tools to support their work
