Umbrella Fund, a leading company in the consumer goods industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. This is a remote position (as per the US Central Timezone), allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to the success of our finance department.
As the Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our company. You will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting, analysis, and reconciliation. In addition, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to develop and implement financial strategies that drive growth and maximize profitability.
This role requires a strong attention to detail, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in accounting, with a deep understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. Excellent communication skills and a knack for building cross-functional relationships are also key to success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to optimize efficiency and mitigate risk
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial projections
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, helping them grow and develop
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with progressively increasing responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
