Ulteig is currently seeking talented and motivated Lead Studies level engineering candidates to support power system studies and transmission planning projects within the renewable energy and power markets
What You'll Do
The studies engineer is expected to perform studies utilizing PSS®E, PSCAD and other software packages;, to be a self-motivated individual who can provide quality support to wind, solar, and BESS generator owners in dynamic modeling and studies in a fast-paced environment; help develop procedures for new study areas; to identify and support business development; and to utilize python scripting for implementing efficient processes.
What We Expect from You
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required, ABET accredited program, or equivalent required
- A minimum of 7 years of working experience, with at least 7 years of experience directly related to power systems
- Experience with steady-state analysis and/or dynamic analysis utilizing PSS®E
- Experience with PowerGem TARA steady-state
- Experience with several ISO/Utility interconnection processes and study methodologies or transmission planning experience
- Experience with programming in Python preferred
- Experience working with project developers
- Independently completes assigned tasks required
- EIT status and ability to work toward PE certification preferred
- Actively manages individual workload
- Must be a self-starter and willing to identify improvements and implement them, utilizing support from others
- Must be comfortable asking questions to team when learning new skills
- Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, clients and external agencies
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S

Additional Opportunity Details:
Compensation Range is Generally +/- 15% of Position Mid-Point of $147,500*
