Our programs:
Udhyam Shiksha works on developing entrepreneurial mindsets among the youth in the government high schools and enabling them to achieve their potential, having impacted ~24,00,000 learners across 10 Indian states.
Udhyam Vyapaar focuses on nano businesses in India, and solving large problems faced by them, at scale; having already enabled up to a 27% income uplift for 5000+ entrepreneurs.
Udhyam Shiksha’s Program Model:
Udhyam Shiksha works in collaboration with the state governments to implement the Entrepreneurial Mindset Curriculum (EMC) in grades 9th to 12th. EMC is designed to build agency in learners by providing real world learning opportunities to high school students across 4 years. EMC is designed on the foundations of experiential learning and encourages learners to make choices, work in teams, go out of their comfort zones and try new experiences.
About the role:
Building teacher capacities in the government education system for facilitating student agency could be challenging as it requires teachers to reexamine their current ways of teaching and gradually build confidence in a completely new domain. We believe that nurturing student agency also requires investing in teachers' own agency. It is in this context, we are looking for a passionate Senior Specialist for the teacher training and development vertical within the curriculum and pedagogy team, who can partner with us in reimagining teacher training in India at scale.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Research and Design
Back work and create designs/content from the given objectives.
Research best practices in continuous teacher professional development, cascade loss, mindset change, coaching & other relevant areas.
Gather participant feedback and identify areas that need improvement.
Observe teaching practices and document insights, teacher personas etc.
Learning and Development:
Create and facilitate engaging learning experiences for teachers.
Build facilitation capacity for master trainers and internal Udhyam team.
Implementation/Program Management:
Work in sync with the curriculum team’s vision and partner with curriculum members at various stages of teacher development.
Collaborate with the SCERT and Ops teams to align on the training design and implementation.
Skills, Experience and Mindsets
At least 5 to 7 years of work experience as a teacher trainer/coach, curriculum designer at scale.
Having worked in a classroom setting for a few years would be an added plus.
Experience of working with the government stakeholders and teachers.
Emergent knowledge about effective TPD models & experiential learning.
Basic understanding of building teacher capacities at scale.
Ability to research, analyse data & articulate specific problems.
Ability to observe and assess the needs of teachers.
Skilled as a facilitator of small groups.
Highly creative & entrepreneurial.
Location: Can be located anywhere but being in Delhi, Gurgaon, Bhopal, Indore, Dehradun would be an added advantage.
Type: Full time position, Remote with travel (between 5 to 10 days in a month)
