About the Role

Our client, a design studio is seeking a talented freelance illustrator with a specific expertise in children's book illustrations for a project. This is a single job that will extend for more than a week, requiring the creation of illustrations for a children's book. The studio is looking for a senior-level illustrator who can work remotely. They are currently accepting offers from potential freelancers and are willing to provide examples of their preferred style upon request.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the design studio and the author (if applicable) to understand the story, characters, and vision.
• Develop visual concepts and character designs that resonate with the target audience of children.
• Create a series of illustrations that bring the story to life, ensuring consistency in style and quality.
• Illustrate characters, backgrounds, and scenes that are engaging, vibrant, and age-appropriate.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a senior-level children's book illustrator, with a portfolio showcasing published works.
• Proficiency in digital illustration tools or traditional media.
• Strong understanding of visual storytelling, composition, and colour theory.
• Ability to adapt to various illustration styles while maintaining a unique artistic voice.
• Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration.
