At Trexo Robotics, groundbreaking technology is revolutionizing mobility for children with disabilities. The company's core innovation is a wearable robotic exoskeleton, often referred to as a robotic gait trainer, meticulously designed to empower children with conditions like cerebral palsy, spinal muscular atrophy, muscular dystrophy, brain injuries, and other conditions affecting lower body mobility to experience walking. This device provides repetitive motion therapy through robotic gait, offering a unique approach to physical therapy that can be utilized both in clinical settings and at home. Trexo Robotics is driven by the vision of making mobility solutions accessible and affordable, co-creating their devices with input from children, parents, and physiotherapists to ensure they meet the real-world needs of users. The technology is engineered to be adaptable, with customizable settings for gait patterns, angles, speed, and assistance levels, catering to individual user requirements. The system even detects the child's interaction with the robot, tracking initiation and resistance to provide valuable data for therapy.

The journey of Trexo Robotics began with a personal connection when co-founder Manmeet Maggu's nephew was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and faced challenges with independent walking. This inspired Maggu and co-founder Rahul Udasi, both mechatronics engineering graduates from the University of Waterloo, to develop a solution. Their initial prototype, built in 2016, marked the beginning of a mission to provide the 'human right to walk' to children globally. Since its official launch, Trexo Robotics has achieved significant milestones, with its devices helping children take millions of steps. The company emphasizes a user-centric design, aiming to create technologies that are not only effective but also engaging for children. Beyond the technological advancements, Trexo Robotics is focused on improving accessibility to their devices and is actively working to demonstrate the benefits to healthcare providers. Their commitment extends to fostering a supportive community, as evidenced by initiatives like '12 Days of Trexmas,' offering families opportunities to experience the technology. Through continuous innovation and a deep understanding of user needs, Trexo Robotics is making a profound impact on the lives of children with disabilities and their families, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in pediatric rehabilitation.
