Are you an accounting student that is eager to make a difference, learn and grow? We are looking for a hands-on accounting intern to join our global finance & accounting team. Amid our digital transformation, this role is a key player to our success.
This is a 12-week summer internship based in our New York Office. The internship will be 29 hours/week and compensated $17/hour. We offer flexible, hybrid workplace policies that allow for working remotely 3 days a week and require being in our NYC office 2 days a week.
This unique position has two main components:
1. Revenue Management
You will be an integral part of the revenue management team and will assist with processing, tracking, and controlling revenue generated with our hotel members. You will be assigned a portfolio of hotels for which you will monitor revenue performance and ensure timely collection. Additionally, you will perform tasks to ensure the completeness and accuracy of our daily transactions as well as the timeliness of our month-end close process.
As part of your responsibilities, you will update customer payment plans, create journal entries, review customer statements, and apply cash payments. You will also support bank reconciliations and review and respond customer questions related to accounting.
This role provides a hands-on opportunity to develop accounting skills while contributing to the efficiency of our revenue operations.
2. Events Accounting and Analytics
You will assist in processing event participation fee transactions into our global ERP system as well as creating global analytics of our 200+ events hosted worldwide
We want to make sure your internship is meaningful, and you gain relevant experience. You will be able to learn from a team of CPA and get exposure to senior management. In addition, you will be required to take on a project, manage it to completion and present your results to management at the end of your internship.
You are:
- Seeking a college degree with a concentration in Accounting or Business.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Highly proficient in Excel a plus.
- Fluent in English.
- High-energy, results-oriented individual who can work both independently and in a team.
- Eager to learn and grow.
- Detailed oriented and proud of the work you deliver.
