Our Company:
Tenchi is a Cyber Security company building innovative technology focused on Third-Party Cyber Risk Management for businesses. Founded by serial entrepreneurs and supported by solid institutional investors, we are driven to disrupt this fast-growing industry.
Tenchi was created to tackle a real challenge: companies often face security risks because their third-parties don’t maintain the same level of cyber protection. This gap leaves even the largest organizations potentially vulnerable to incidents they can’t directly control. That’s exactly where we step in.
Our TPCRM SaaS solution, Zanshin, is the only global TPCRM solution that offers both inside-out and outside-in visibility - combining external attack surface monitoring with automated, continuous, and non-intrusive assessments of cloud infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and security controls.
Our People and Culture:
What We Believe
At Tenchi, we build innovative technology to help companies secure their ecosystems with transparency and peace of mind. We are ambitious and purpose-driven. Our culture is rooted in intentionality, transparency, and action. We move fast, communicate openly, and invest in people who want to make an impact.
As a 100% remote company with team members across Brazil, the US, Canada, Argentina, and Spain, we embrace flexibility while solving meaningful challenges together.

The role:
Are you a technical leader with a passion for building things from scratch and ensuring software quality at scale?
We’re looking for a Lead Test Engineer who will be the first hire to establish and grow our testing area. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on technical work with leadership in defining processes, tools, and strategy for QA within the company.
You’ll design and implement our testing practices (manual and automated), introduce modern frameworks, and collaborate across teams to make quality a core part of our culture. Over time, you’ll also help grow and mentor a QA team.
What you’ll do:
- Build and Lead Testing Practices: Define the testing strategy, frameworks, and processes from the ground up.
- Manual & Automated Testing: Perform and lead manual UI testing across browsers/devices, while developing automated end-to-end tests using TypeScript frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright).
- Test Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain scalable test cases, suites, and regression packs.
- Bug Reporting & Quality Metrics: Establish standards for bug reporting, defect tracking, and key quality metrics.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner closely with developers, product managers, and UX/UI designers to ensure testing is embedded in every stage of the development lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and introduce new tools, methodologies, and practices to improve test coverage, speed, and reliability.
- Mentorship & Growth: As the area grows, provide guidance and mentorship to future QA/test engineers.
Requirements
What we’re looking for:
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of manual testing, automation practices, and modern testing frameworks (TypeScript/JavaScript preferred).
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to define processes, set standards, and influence a culture of quality.
- Problem-Solving & Strategy: Ability to think critically, anticipate risks, and propose effective testing solutions.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of aligning stakeholders on quality goals.
- Hands-On Mindset: Willingness to roll up your sleeves and build tests while shaping long-term strategy.
- Experience with frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or Jest.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating testing into deployment workflows.
- Previous experience in a founding QA role or building a test area from scratch.
- Exposure to bug tracking/project management tools (GitHub Issues, Jira, Asana).
