PPS is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Construction Project Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring project progress, ensuring all deliverables are meet, analyzing project data, and ensuring that our construction projects are completed on time and within budget. This role is crucial for providing the insights and data-driven recommendations necessary for effective project management and decision-making. You will work closely with project managers, assistant project managers, engineers, and financial teams to track key performance indicators and identify potential risks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track and analyze project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation against established baselines.
- Prepare and distribute regular project status reports for stakeholders, including progress updates, financial summaries, and risk assessments.
- Develop and maintain project-specific dashboards and reporting tools to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs).
Financial Analysis:
- Monitor project expenditures, process invoices, and track budget variances.
- Assist in the development of project budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete estimates.
- Analyze cost data to identify trends, potential overruns, and opportunities for cost savings.
Data & Schedule Management:
- Collect, compile, and analyze project data from various sources to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Review and analyze project schedules to identify critical path activities, potential delays, and resource constraints.
- Assist in the management of project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and requests for information (RFIs).
Risk & Compliance:
- Identify and analyze potential project risks and work with the project team to develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that project activities comply with contractual requirements and company standards.
- Assist in the change order management process by analyzing cost and schedule impacts.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Liaise between the project management team, finance department, and on-site construction teams to ensure clear communication and data flow.
- Support project managers in preparing for project review meetings and presentations.
Required Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in a project controls, project coordination, or financial analysis role within the construction industry.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and advanced formulas).
- Experience with construction project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, or similar platforms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Familiarity with various project delivery methods (e.g., Design-Build, CM at-Risk).
- Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) are a plus.
- Experience in cost estimating and forecasting.
