We are a family-run technology company with a broadly diversified product portfolio. Founded in 1949 by Hans Liebherr in Kirchdorf an der Iller, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, our business is still entirely owned by the Liebherr family. Our origins lie in building affordable tower cranes, a response to the post-World War II rebuilding efforts in Germany. The invention of the TK10, the first mobile tower crane, by our founder marked the beginning of our journey. Today, we are proud to be one of the world's largest manufacturers of construction machinery, but our expertise extends far beyond that initial focus. Our group's holding company, Liebherr-International AG, is based in Bulle, Switzerland.

Our operations span across 13 distinct product segments: earthmoving, mining, mobile cranes, tower cranes, concrete technology, maritime cranes, aerospace and transportation systems, machine tools and automation systems, domestic appliances (refrigeration and freezing), components, and even hotels. This diversification allows for a creative exchange between segments, fostering innovation and the development of visionary technologies, fascinating products, and services that make a real difference.
