OVERVIEW

EXPANSIA is excited to design, implement, and mature a secure, scalable Integrated Digital Environment (IDE) that enables Digital Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) integration across the developing US Hypersonic enterprise and industrial base. Located at the new aerospace research and test complex, this facility is poised to become the nation’s premier hub for hypersonic system research, modeling & simulation, and test capabilities.
As a Full-Stack Developer III, you will design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable web applications and integration services that connect and extend commercial digital engineering tools within a hybrid cloud environment. Your primary focus will be on building the integration layer including APIs, services, workflows, and user interfaces that enable data to move reliably and securely between systems while protecting sensitive program data and vendor intellectual property. You will work across front-end and back-end technologies to translate requirements into maintainable solutions that adhere to secure development practices, enterprise architecture standards, and performance expectations. This role requires close collaboration with systems engineers, data engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and tool owners to ensure commercial digital engineering platforms are integrated into a cohesive, mission-focused, and secure digital ecosystem.
The proposed salary range for this position is $112,120-$142,910. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Design and implement secure integration services and APIs that connect commercial digital engineering tools and supporting
  • Gather and document business requirements from clients and internal teams
  • Develop and maintain full-stack web applications that expose, orchestrate, or visualize integrated engineering data
  • Implement backend services that support workflow automation, data exchange, and controlled system interoperability
  • Maintain and improve software functionality while ensuring coding, security, and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, departments, and customers to resolve development and implementation issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in a timely manner
  • Develop responsive front-end interfaces while enforcing appropriate access controls and data handling rules
  • Maintain software control and apply agile development methodologies
  • Write unit tests, refactor code, and optimize query performance for databases
  • Support and document internal tools, software development processes, and best practices
  • Apply secure coding practices to prevent common vulnerabilities (e.g., injection, authentication flaws, improper access)
  • Support cybersecurity activities by adhering to secure configuration, logging, and auditing requirements
  • Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions
  • Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded
  • Identify and forward to your leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area
  • Participate in growth efforts as requested
  • Ensure all contractual deliverables are met/exceeded to the customer's satisfaction
  • Complete personal PDP and attend staff meetings and Storytime (with camera on)
  • Build productive and positive professional relationships with clients within your program
  • Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance
  • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 5 - 7 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 - 5 years of experience
  • Strong experience in full-stack development, including server-side development (such as PHP), modern JavaScript frameworks, and data persistence using relational and other structured data stores
  • Proven ability to develop solutions for complex technical challenges independently

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with modern web frameworks and libraries (Laravel, React, or equivalent technologies)
  • Knowledge of performance tuning, usability, testing, and automation
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and scalable web application architecture
