Sutherland is looking for a Sr. Director Network Administration (Remote - US Base). This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the Americas region’s network strategy, design, operation, and improvement of corporate and cloud networks for all of Sutherlands Business Units. This individual will manage a team of network engineers in our Americas region and be accountable for the design, management, upgrade, implementation strategy and stability of our wireless/wired networks, firewalls, switches, and cloud environment. Accountability extends to maintaining our network security which includes the definition, reporting, and documentation of our network architecture and compliance with peer standards in our other regions.
This individual will partner with our Global Network Teams, Server teams and other IT organizations as required to perform associated duties. This position will also work with our vendors and Business team members to design and deliver network services to support and enable Sutherland Business units and its clients. This includes proactive scanning, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, managing hardware/software upgrades, Information Security Management as it relates to network infrastructure and actioning urgent response requirements as needed.
Responsibilities:
Senior Director of Network Services summary of job function:
- Network Security, LAN, WAN, and Wireless architecture design and implementation for all Sutherland Network Operations support for APAC region.
- Provide management and technical direction for team of network engineers.
- Ensure the network meets availability, reliability, security, and performance requirements.
- Research and define network hardware and software standards with peers for Sutherland Network.
- Develop/Update network related policies, procedures and processes.
- Standardize network configuration across all Americas regions.
Management and Development of Network Operation Strategy
- Develop and Manage network designs and build from multiple infrastructure projects to ensure appropriate delivery, reliability, redundancy, safety, security, scalability, and sustainability with contingency planning for growth design strategies for Sutherland.
- Develop, Design, Manage and build of New/Remodeled Sutherland facilities.
- Manage network engineering team.
- Develop and oversee network technology roadmap for all Americas regions.
- Collaborate with business units on strategic technical solutions.
- Provide Level 3 network support for all Americas Region.
- Maintain security across network infrastructure in conjunction with the Info Security Team and the Network Security Architecture team.
- Develop and Maintain all network documentation as changes are implemented.
- Work with VP of Global Network Services on Budgeting, Forecast planning and Special Project ROI Models.
- Good technical expertise with enterprise On Prem Network Technologies – Switches, Routers, Load Balancers, Network Access Control, Remote Access technologies, SDWAN Devices, Wireless Networks, Web Proxy Services, as well as the supporting technologies like DNS and DHCP.
- Participate in IT change control process and provide notifications to the business partners/stakeholders of planned and/or unplanned changes, maintenance windows, and outages.
- Stay abreast of current technologies, developments, network compliance requirements, standards, and industry trends.
- Ability to be on call as needed, accommodate intermittent travel, and perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, required in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- Master’s degree, preferred in Computer Science, Business Management, or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years managing a large, complex enterprise network.
- Leading large technical projects with demonstrated oral and written ability to communicate with team members and business leaders.
- Strong understanding of network routing, switching, wireless, firewalls and SDWAN Technologies. Manufacturers include (Cisco, Zscaler, Citrix, Palo Alto and F5).
- CCNA or CCNP Certification, Active or Expired, and verifiable network project experience to match 5-10 years of active network leadership experience are highly desirable.
- Experience with software defined networks (SDN) and cloud environments are a plus. Certifications in these areas desired.
- Experience with cloud-based telecom systems/technologies.
- Managing and mentoring network engineers.
- Architecting and designing large-scale networks.
- Managing and maintaining Cisco Routers, Switches, Load Balancers and Firewalls.
- Wireless networking technologies such as 802.11x in an enterprise environment.
- Manage our internal clients and external clients in addressing escalations and client concerns.
- Ability to be on call as needed, accommodate intermittent travel, and perform other duties as assigned.
