What you will be doing in the role of Project Manager, Operations

The Project Manager, Operations is responsible for managing small to medium projects of 1-10+ FTE from initiation to closure. Handles multiple projects simultaneously, including assisting with large projects, and can meet deadlines while effectively managing priorities and communication process. Serves as an internal consultant to assist with identifying, evaluating, and developing internal processes or procedures where technology can streamline operational efficiency, productivity, and/or reporting.

What you will bring to the table

  • Developing detailed project plans and leading project teams through the project framework processes to achieve all milestones through to project completion.
  • Obtaining a clear understanding of the business needs and the technologies that can be used to appropriately accommodate project requirements.
  • Using standard techniques and tools to gather business and technical requirements in an organized and repeatable process.
  • Providing direction and guidance to those assigned to fulfilling project milestones.
  • Participating in the creation of an RFI/RFP for solution alternatives
  • Accepting responsibility for the business partner’s expectations toward the timeliness and quality of the work products being delivered. Providing on-going project management and status reporting at all levels.
  • Being responsible and accountable for the content, quality, timeliness, correctness, completeness, and accuracy of all Project Framework deliverables within any given phase.
  • Ensuring project documentation is kept up to date and the project team is well informed.
  • Providing input on designing test scenarios for business and functional processes.
  • Ensuring quality assurance testing is completed and validating acceptability of technology solutions.
  • Demonstrating solid customer service skills and the ability to translate technical information to a diverse audience with various levels of technical knowledge.
  • Working with internal and external developers, partner vendors, and business owners to coordinate the completion of project milestones.
  • Working with various Business owners to ensure successful launch, product feedback and awareness programs are in place.
  • Performing miscellaneous job duties as assigned.

We know you will have and be able to

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Business Management, Information Systems, or comparable.
  • 1-2 Years gathering business requirements, preferably technical requirements.
  • 1-2 years of successfully managing simultaneous projects, preferably with technical considerations.
  • Provides direction and guidance to those assigned to fulfilling project requirements to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Familiarity with Project Management best practices, ideally earning or working towards a Project Management or technical certification.
  • Willingness to take personal responsibility for the outcomes resulting from his/her judgement, guidance, and decisions.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in method, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Can collaborate across all departments and with all levels of staff.
  • Possesses excellent time management and organizational skills, including ability to accurately gauge project duration, deliver on deadlines, and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with Project Management tools, i.e., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Asana, Basecamp, etc.
  • Familiarity with Agile and/ or Scrum methodologies.

We would love if you have

  • Technical training on any platforms used by SGK preferred.
  • Experience dealing with cross-functional teams.
  • A field related certification (examples: Business Analysis Certification, ITIL, Project Management Professional) is preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ experience with Enterprise CRM and/or ERP solutions in a non-profit environment is preferred.
  • Experience with IT Systems deployment and/or Quality Assurance would be helpful.
  • Understanding of various IT responsibilities and familiarity with business groups and their roles.
  • A solid understanding of enterprise system implementations and release cycles.
  • Willingness to take personal responsibility for the outcomes resulting from his/her judgement, guidance, and decisions.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in method, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Knowledge of online fundraising, CRM, Financials, CMS products, and Project and Incidence Management tools.
  • Travel requirements required outside of your home office will be less than 5% depending on our business needs or company-related conferences.

  • Approximate salary $49,000 to $65,000/annually; exact compensation ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, experience and geographic location.
