Job Description
The Global Software Development team is a specialist software development team in Statkraft that delivers leading software for all business areas in Statkraft, ranging from web applications to advanced analytics tools. Custom software development is essential for Statkraft to remain a market leader in renewable energy production and market access. We are looking for great people to join our software development team. Your role:
After an introduction in our development process and our development environment, you will be given the chance to learn what is important in our market operations and gain an understanding of the energy market.
Our renewable energy portfolio is a mix of wind-, solar-, battery-, and hydropower and the operation of these many different production units is highly automated. You are asked to contribute to the development of software and scripts that enhance the communication between our systems and in term the development of software and scripts directly used by our business. We also learn from our interns and we find it important to give you the needed responsibility and independence.
As a working student in software development, you will closely engage with the business by building customized solutions giving a competitive edge in the power market. The following tasks are part of your job profile:
- Implement solutions within agreed timescales
- Coordinate implementations with international customers and our internal IT infrastructure department
- Prepare release notes and operational handover documents
- Participate in other system development projects
You will work in our office in Düsseldorf (hybrid but not fully remote). The working time (20 hours max.) can be organized flexibly within the week.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
- You are currently enrolled in a degree program in natural sciences, economics, engineering, or computer science.
- You have some hands-on experience with .NET and C# programming.
- You are familiar with the Angular framework — you understand the basics like components, modules, services, routing, and directives.
- You know your way around API integration and RESTful services, and you’ve used HttpClient in Angular.
- You are comfortable using Git for version control — branching, pull requests, and resolving merge conflicts don’t scare you.
- You enjoy working with others and communicate clearly and effectively.
- You take initiative, work independently, and like to get things done.
- You are fluent in English
