The Opportunity

We’re expanding our Cyber Security Career Track services to support successful outcomes for our students. Are you passionate about cyber security, the tools and technology,, programming, and helping curious cyber security students master fundamental skills that will lead them to great careers? This position may be for you!

We are looking for a detail-oriented grader to grade projects and exercises that students complete in an online bootcamp course. You will utilize existing materials to assist with grading submissions in a timely manner and provide feedback to students as they proceed through the course. This is a remote, part-time contract role (average of 10-15 hours per week) with a flexible schedule, reporting to the Outcomes Program Manager.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate student projects, primarily the mini projects and non capstone projects, as well as capstone associated projects against rubrics - these projects cover a variety of fundamental cyber security skills and concepts
• Provide written feedback on assignments informed by Springboard’s rubrics and solution sets, feedback will lead to student growth
• Evaluate student projects within 3 business days to give them quick feedback, your minimum time commitment is ~10 hours per week
• Communicate with student’s mentors to resolve questions, provide clarity on their strengths and weakness, and calibrate on feedback when necessary
• Escalate at-risk students through appropriate channels and Program Manager
• Graders may need to evaluate presentations for executive, technical, and non-technical audiences (synchronously)
• Graders will be paid for hours worked via our invoicing tool

Experience

• Are as passionate about explaining principles of cybersecurity as about cybersecurity itself
• Have at least 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Hold current CISSP certificate; additional industry certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA Security+, EC-Council, SANS are preferred

Skills

• Excellent cyber security knowledge
• Proficient in the topics covered in our curriculum and are an expert on incident response, network scanning tools, vulnerability assessments, Kali Linux, and pCAP and log analysis, as well as basic Python and Powershell scripting
• Proficient with cybersecurity related tools/technologies that we use including WireShark, Nessus, Nmap/Kali Linux, Splunk, Snort, Pfense, Aircrack, Cain and Abel, Virtual Box, Hashcat, Webgoat and Linux
• Excellent written communication skills
• Ability to give detailed and actionable feedback
• Ability to strike a balance between maintaining objective grading baseline and allowing subjective considerations
• Ability to meet deadlines within tight timelines
• Knowledge in cyber security industry needs, trends, and employability
• Possess a growth mindset and be able to receive feedback

Pay is $3 per assignment graded.
