[8OW] MS SQL Server Data Engineer

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics (with a computer science track)

AND 5+ years of relevant work experience.

• Strong experience using Microsoft SQL Server, including optimizing indexes and query execution plans for performance tuning.
• Strong experience writing, maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting T-SQL queries, stored procedures, etc.
• Database Administration – security, file management, backup/restore processes, performance, etc.
• Strong experience with data engineering (Database Design, Data ETL, data management, etc)
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory and DataBricks
• Experience working on cloud deployed solutions in AWS and/or Azure.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, complexity.
• Comfortable working with and developing coding standards, applies clean code and SOLID principles.
• Strong analysis, documentation, and communication skills.
• IT Service Management best practices: follows good ticket management / update process – keeps tickets updated regularly.
• Strong time-management skills: comfortable with discussing and handling competing priorities,
• Ability to timebox troubleshooting, a conscientious sense of deadlines and knowing when to proactively escalate.
• Excellent client management skills: sets clear expectations and updates with external and internal clients.
• Ability to understand discrepancies between bug-fixing, configuration changes vs. Enhancements
• Fluency in English (verbal and written).
• Comfortable working in a distributed team across time zones.

Not Required but Desired Skills:

• Experience with full stack development and practices
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and high-performance JavaScript

Knowledge of further code stacks/frameworks: Python, NoSQL, .NET, Docker, AWS, Azure

Preferred Skills:

- Certifications in SharePoint, Power Automate, or Power Platform.
- Experience with custom development and automation in enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of other related Microsoft 365 tools and services.
