About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our client’s team. Reporting to the Director of Analytics, this role will be instrumental in enabling data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

Priorities for the role:

  • Understand the ins and outs of the performance marketing space, including how campaigns are set up across various platforms, how budgets are allocated, and how revenue, spend, and traffic are tracked and attributed across channels and campaigns.

  • Build a strong partnership with the brand and performance marketing teams.

  • Create or help create a framework for comprehensive measurement of marketing, which includes attribution and a controlled experiment framework.

Some of the main responsibilities for the role include:

  • Proactively identify trends and patterns in data to inform strategic decision-making

  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support various departments including marketing, product development, and supply chain

  • Develop and maintain advanced SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from databases efficiently

  • Utilize Python to analyze large datasets and develop data-driven insights to support business objectives

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to solve business challenges

  • Design and implement data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders

Additional note: Senior Data Analyst may need to speak with internal business stakeholders. Python, SQL, A/B testing experience with marketing, 4-5 years of experience. If e-commerce or marketing experience is even better. This person will be working with customer buying data as well as marketing data.

Job Skills/Requirements
- +90% English written and oral (at least B2 level) with excellent communication skills

- 5+ years of experience working as a data analyst, preferably in a retail or e-commerce environment.
- Understand foundational advertising P&L concepts, including diminishing/marginal returns, elasticity, and incrementality.
- Strong proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex queries to extract and manipulate data.
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib.
- Experience working with large datasets and performing statistical analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex findings into actionable insights.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Intermediate level experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Ability to think in terms of creating data products in collaboration with engineers that have staying power in terms of usability and adoption.

Non-negotiables for the Senior Data Analyst role:
1. Expertise in marketing measurement, including but not limited to:
- Brand tracking studies using surveys, focus groups, and industry reports
- Attribution modeling, e.g., click-based models, media mix models, controlled experimentation
2. Expertise in conducting advanced data analysis (using SQL and Python/R). Preferably within Performance marketing and Web Analytics

3. Strong communication skills

4. Prior experience in eCommerce retail

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques, forecasting, and algorithms.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
